Alixa’s first playpen was a stack of upside down tutus. She’s never wanted to be far from satin, tulle, or rhinestones since.
In New York her design credits include: Waxing West (La Mama;) The Busybody (Fordham University;) Mickey Mouse Is Dead (59E59;) Splitting Infinity (SPF;) Hell, an Opera (PS 122;) One Flea Spare (Columbia Stages;) Hungry, A Bitter Taste, Henrietta Hermaline’s Fall from Great Heights (EST/ Youngblood 2006;) and Heir of Civility (Chamber Dance Project.) Christine. 1403, a short film by Erica Berg, has been chosen as official selections of the BAC 41st International Film Festival, the 700IS Experimental Film Festival, and the Aarhus Festival of Independent Art in addition to several other festivals worldwide.
Recent regional design credits include: The Comedy of Errors (Yale Repertory Theatre;) Guest From the Future (Bard Summerscape;) When the World Was Green (Luna Stage;) Wandering Home (New Haven Arts and Ideas Festival;) the award winning production of The Jammer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Spankin’ Yanks;) The Skin of Our Teeth, Banditos (Yale School of Drama;) Moonbitch, Nocturne, The Colored Museum, and Vladimir Mayakovsky (Yale Cabaret.)
