Lee Savage Scenic Design

Lee has received the Connecticut Critics Circle award for Best Scenic Design for the Yale Repertory Theater production of The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow by Rolin Jones. He also designed award winning productions of Go-Go Kitty Go! at the The New York International Fringe Festival (Fringe NYC Best Play Award), and The Jammer by Rolin Jones at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Fringe First Award Winner).

Recent regional design credits include: The Misanthrope (Dallas Theater Center), In This Corner (The Old Globe), Shipwrecked! (Long Wharf Theatre), Tamburlaine the Great, Edward II, and Richard III (Helen Hayes Award nom.) (Shakespeare Theatre Company), Driving Miss Daisy (Delaware Theatre Company), Peter Pan and Cyrano de Bergerac (University of Delaware, PTTP), I Am My Own Wife (Dallas Theater Center), Intimate Apparel (Philadelphia Theater Company), The Servant of Two Masters (Pittsburgh Public Theater), A School For Scandal (Trinity Repertory Company), Love’s Labour’s Lost, Uncle Vanya, and Orpheus Descending (Yale School of Drama), and numerous productions at the Yale Cabaret including: The Love of Don Perlimplin for Belisa in the Garden, Tuesdays and Sundays, …and Jesus Moonwalks on the Mississippi, The Tempest, Cabaret, Faust is Dead, In the Heart of America, The House of Yes, and Nocturne.

Recent New York design credits include: West Moon Street (Prospect Theater Company), The Private Lives of Eskimos, and I Heart Kant (Committee Theater Company), Harvest (La Mama), Frag by Michael John Garcès (HERE), Worth by Suzanne Lee (Urban Stages) and Wuthering Heights: A Romantic Musical (Theater 5).

Lee is currently working on productions of Waiting for Godot (Birkshire Theatre Fetival), and Back, Back, Back, a new play by Itamar Moses (The Old Globe) as well as Death of a Salesman (Chautauqua Theater Company).

Lee is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, the Yale School of Drama, a participant in the Lincoln Center Directors Lab, and is a founding member of the Wingspace Theatrical Design Group.
